VIVA Istituto Verde e Azul

Casa 32 was born from our deep connection to Ilhabela, an island that shaped both our summers and our values. Known as the “Capital da Vela,” Ilhabela has long attracted nature lovers and adventurers. But with the growing tide of tourism, the island’s delicate ecosystem, especially its marine life, faces new pressures.

At the same time, something beautiful is happening: whales, dolphins, and other marine species are making a return! This resurgence is a reminder that protection and preservation matter.

That’s why we support VIVA Instituto Verde Azul, an organization rooted in Ilhabela that is dedicated to educating the public on responsible marine life interaction, especially around whale watching, which can often do more harm than good when not approached respectfully.

Why VIVA?

VIVA Instituto Verde Azul was created by marine biologists who believe that people protect what they understand and admire. Through research, education, and community engagement, VIVA works to preserve whales, dolphins, and other marine mammals, many of which are still hunted, harmed by pollution, or caught in fishing nets.

Their programs use storytelling, books, and hands-on learning to make marine conservation tangible and inspiring, especially for younger generations.

With 12 species already recorded off the coast of Ilhabela, their work is crucial in shaping a culture of care and coexistence. At Casa 32, we pledge 3% of every sale to support VIVA’s mission.

By buying from us, you're helping protect marine life and ensure that future generations can experience the magic of these animals in the wild.
